Jesus-Leito: “No talks on people losing their jobs at UTS”

WILLEMSTAD – According to several sources, the telecommunication company UTS was preparing to lay off 100 of its employees. But according to the Minister responsible for this public company, Mrs. Zita Jesus-Leito, this is not true or at least she has no knowledge of this.

The Minister indicated that she will have to hear from the company what will take place, but she is certain that the committee responsible for the negotiations for the sale of the company is not talking about laying off employees.

The Minister also explained that the company that will take over UTS must keep the current employees and must comply with all the agreements made.

“The current employees must continue with the new company and that is all I know. I don’t have any other information,” says Minister Zita Jesus-Leito.
