Jamaloodin wants ankle monitor if necessary

WILLEMSTAD - George Jamaloodin wants to await his trial in freedom. According to his lawyer, Eldon "Peppie" Sulvaran, there is no reason for his client to flee or endanger the trial.

Moreover, there is no evidence that Jamaloodin was involved in the murder of Helmin Wiels.

The former minister for the MFK party of Gerrit Schotte (also in prison) was present at the pre-trial session yesterday via a video connection. Jamaloodin is behind bars in Bonaire.

He claimed to be innocent in the Wiels case and asked the judge to be allowed to wait his case in freedom, possibly in combination with electronic or camera surveillance.
