Integrated water policy of Curaçao presented for Water Conference

WILLEMSTAD, NEW YORK - At the United Nations Water Conference, Curacao shows what has been achieved so far in the field of water policy. In a press release, the Ministry of Economic Development (MEO) shares the Integrated Water Policy of Curaçao with the various goals for the United Nations Water Conference.

The pillars mentioned in the policy should be achieved before 2030. The various points mentioned are that all citizens must use the water efficiently, all Curaçaoans must have access to clean drinking water that is affordable for everyone, and that water must not pose a risk to the community in any way.

The Integrated Water Policy of Curaçao was created in 2016 and ratified by the Council of Ministers in 2022.

The aim of the conference is to take faster measures against global warming and the associated rise in sea levels. The organization of the meeting is partly in the hands of the Netherlands.

Thursday is the last day of the United Nations Water Conference in New York.
