WILLEMSTAD – The Prekario Team for Carnival 2025 has announced that as of February 8, from 12:00 AM, all individuals and businesses with a valid prekario permit may begin installing stands and structures along the Carnival route.
Only those who possess a valid permit and have paid their fees will be allowed to set up their structures. The authorities urge permit holders to strictly follow the regulations to ensure a safe and orderly installation.
Important Regulations for Permit Holders:
The permit must be available at all times for representatives of the Prekario Team during the entire Carnival period.
The permit must be presented upon request by law enforcement officers.
Instructions from the police must be followed to maintain public order, safety, and morality.
Instructions from the Fire Department (Brantweer) must be followed for fire safety.
Health and safety guidelines from the Medical and Public Health Services (G&GZ) must be respected.
Structural safety requirements from the Urban Planning Department (ROP) must be adhered to.
Instructions from the Project Team for Supervision and Enforcement (PTH) of the Ministry of Traffic, Transport, and Urban Planning (VVRP) must be followed for technical safety.
The structure must be secure, stable, and fire-resistant, meeting the standards of the police, fire department, ROP, and the Prekario Team.
The height of the structure must not exceed four meters from the lowest point.
Only single-level structures with a roof are permitted; multi-level structures are not allowed.
The structure must have a solid staircase with handrails.
If using scaffolding, it must be secured with concrete blocks.
The structure must be removed by the deadline specified in the permit, ensuring the site is left clean.
The permit fee must be paid in advance.
Vehicles cannot be parked behind the allocated spaces.
The permit holder must consider that:
The permit is personal, non-transferable, and non-separable.
Legal documents are required for commercial use of the space.
Any structures not removed on time will be dismantled at the expense of the permit holder.
If the allocated space is left unclean or in poor condition, the permit holder will lose priority for the next Carnival season.
Failure to comply with the conditions may result in ineligibility for a permit in future Carnival events.
The Prekario Team will work closely with the relevant authorities to monitor compliance with these regulations. If a permit holder fails to follow the rules, their structure may be removed.
