InselAir employees must wait until January 15

WILLEMSTAD – The one thing that became clear yesterday during the meeting with the InselAir employees is that they have to wait until January 15. On that day the superintendent of the embattled company will have to report to the judge. That’s when it will be known if interCaribbean, which indicated that it is interested in taking over the local airline, has presented a bank guarantee letter.

Organizer of the meeting, the union UGTK/CADMU and its President Wendell Meulens explained that the meeting was important to give clarity to the employees. Mr. Etienne Ys, chairman of the negotiation committee, Mr. Lars de Brabander, InselAir’s CEO and the superintendent Rogier ban den Heuvel were present to answer questions.

There were several questions on the agreement signed with interCaribbean but the as was indicated before, most of the answers were to wait until the day in court. That’s when everybody will get more details on their future at the airline.

InselAir currently has 130 employees and one aircraft type Fokker 50 operating.
