Increased inspections implemented at elderly care facilities

WILLEMSTAD - Inspectors from the Inspectorate of Public Health (IVG) will be conducting more frequent inspections at elderly care homes. Interim Minister of Health, Environment, and Nature (GMN), Javier Silvania, announced this on his Facebook page.

Silvania stated that numerous complaints have been received regarding elderly care homes, prompting the IVG and the implementing organization Medicine and Health Affairs to schedule visits to an elderly care facility every two weeks.

During these inspections, various aspects will be examined, including the facility's design and safety measures. The cleanliness protocols and staff uniforms will also be assessed. Additionally, the relationship between the board and management will be scrutinized.

The results of these inspections will be publicly disclosed.
