WILLEMSTAD - The rates of gasoline and diesel on Curaçao are going up. This is reported by Bureau Telecommunication and Post (BT&P). From Tuesday, March 2, petrol will be about 7 cents per liter more expensive, the diesel price will rise by 13 cents.
The rates for electricity and water will also increase from Monday 1 March. Electricity and water tariffs are increasing due to an increase in fuel costs for electricity production. The electricity costs for water production as well as the higher correction factors for January 2021 also contribute to the increase.
As already announced by BT&P last month, there has been a strong continuous rise in international price quotations for both crude oil and refined fuels since November 2020.
These developments have resulted in increases in fuel rates internationally. The increases in Curaçao will also lead to an increase in the rates for fuels and utilities in the coming month (s).
