IC Curaçao Medical Center is full, corona patients to Aruba

WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao has started to transfer corona patients in need of intensive care to Aruba. The IC of the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) is full with 46 patients. The Horacio Oduber Hospital in Aruba has admitted 7 IC patients from Curaçao.

The CMC contains a total of 129 Covid patients. The island had a total of 4,768 active infections on Sunday. The increase seems to be decreasing slightly. The 66rd death was also registered. There is a very strict lockdown on Curaçao.

Aruba has also seen a slight decrease. There are now 583 active cases known. 33 patients have been admitted, 13 of whom are in the ICU. The island has 92 corona deaths. The hospital has scaled down non-emergency care to make room for patients from Curaçao.

The virus is clearly on the wane on Bonaire. After the peak, a few weeks ago of well over 400, the number of infections in the past 24 hours fell to 109. This has not eased the pressure on healthcare. There are 10 patients in the Bonaire hospital, 4 of whom need intensive care. 2 patients were transferred to Aruba and 5 to Colombia.
