WILLEMSTAD - Jan Huurman, former inspector of Public Health has written a book about his period in Curaçao. The book called 'Inspection Public Health Curaçao' will be launched on Friday 22 October.
Huurman has monitored the quality of healthcare for three years. The book is about his time as an inspector on the island. In the book Huurman draws several conclusions.
One of those conclusions is that Curaçao will never be able to pay for the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC). “The hospital costs eighty to ninety million guilders a year,” Huurman said in a recent interview. "It is a utopia that this can be recovered with medical tourism from the region."
