House searches on Bonaire and Curaçao after threats via Facebook

ORANJESTAD, WILLEMSTAD - On Tuesday several house searches were carried out in Bonaire and Curaçao by the KPCN led by the Public Prosecution Service BES (OM BES). For a long time, there has been a Facebook page where threatening and incendiary messages are shared.

Under the alias 'Wim van Huizen', the user threatened, among others, the lieutenant governor of Bonaire Edison Rijna and other government officials. This has been reported.

 

One woman was arrested during the search on Bonaire. In Curaçao, a house and business premises were searched by the police and the RST. Data carriers have been seized on both islands. One man has been held in Curaçao for questioning. The matter is under further investigation.
