Hiring a waitress without an exemption means four months in prison

WILLEMSTAD - Restaurant and bar operators who hire women as waitress and do not request an exemption from the Minister of Economic Development, run the risk of going to prison for four months.

That is what needs to be done when the law of 1949 is strictly observed, says Member of Parliament for the coalition party MAN Giselle Mc William. There are still more laws with provisions that are no longer of this time.

The parliamentarian has tabled an amendment to delete that provision on the mandatory waiver applications. In addition, a committee has been set up to check the laws on this type of provision.
