Health Inspector did not to report fraudulent psychologists

WILLEMSTAD - Inspector-General Jan Huurman of the Healthcare Inspectorate did not want to take any action at the end of last year as a result of an investigation into several psychologists. This investigation resulted in criminal offenses. Huurman denies that he did not want to take action but says that he didn’t have the chance to do this.

The Healthcare Inspectorate received a request from the Education Inspectorate to investigate hundreds of reports from psychologists. These reports are about children who need to be referred to special education or who need extra time for examinations. Files were empty or copied-paste from other reports.

The Inspectorate also discovered that one of the psychologists would send invoices using the names of other psychologists. In 2015, the SVB set a maximum amount for what the psychologists could charge, and the investigation shows that this psychologist used other psychologists for his invoices.

During the investigation into the reports, the Healthcare Inspectorate also found out that two psychologists are not actually psychologists.
