Hans Kedzierski Chairman of the Board of Directors for Curaçao Medical Center

WILLEMSTAD - After a painstaking process during the past months, the recruitment and selection procedure for the Board of Directors for Curacao Medical Center took place. This procedure was carried out by a carefully selected selection committee consisting of Gilbert Martina (director HNO T & E), David Voetelink (Vice Chairman of the Executive Board Erasmus University Medical Center), Wilfred "Freddie" Curiel (independent member committee) and Regina Bakker-Sprangers (Senior Manager HRM Deloitte). From a 'long list' of candidates from Curaçao, the Netherlands and other countries, the selection committee has drawn up a 'short list' of candidates for the Chairman of the Board of Directors with whom discussions took place. In the end, two candidates for the position of Executive Board Chairman continued to the next selection round consisting of an 'executive assessment' study conducted by a renowned consultancy firm in the Netherlands. A reference survey also took place in which ther references were spoken with in person. After this extensive and careful process, Johannes Hans Kedzierski has been selected as the most suitable candidate as Chairman of the Board and will take office on June 1, 2019. Kedzierski was recently in Curaçao and already spoke with several local stakeholders on the island.

Hans Kedzierkski has more than 25 years of experience in the management of various (university) hospitals, both in the Netherlands and in the Far East. In the Netherlands he worked between 1995 and 2012 as CEO of the Pasteur Hospital (300 beds) in Oosterhout. Kedzierski also worked at the Dijkzigt in Rotterdam. Hans Kedzierski was Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Medical Center in Alkmaar (1200 beds). Later Kedzierski moved to the United Arab Emirates to serve as Chairman of the Board of Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital (250 beds). And later he was again approached to lead the Al Wakra Hospital (350 beds). Since 2014 until 2019, Kedzierksi is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the prestigious Aga Khan University Hospital (900 beds), Karachi, Pakistan. The Supervisory Board of Hospital Nobo Otrobanda is pleased to be able to get a candidate of Hans Kedzierski's caliber to Curaçao after a carefully selected selection process.

 

Hans Kedzierski, as chairman of the Board of Directors, will also take seat in the Curaçao Medical Center selection committee for the recruitment and selection for the other 2 positions, namely the Executive Board member of the Management and Medical portfolio. This procedure is still ongoing. The Supervisory Board of HNO expects that the new hospital's Executive Board will be completed by mid-2019.
