WILLEMSTAD – On Friday, May 16, 2025, the Governor of La Guajira, Colombia, Mr. Jairo Aguilar Deluque, paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Curaçao, Her Excellency Lucille George-Wout, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen regional relations. 

During their meeting, the two leaders discussed collaboration opportunities in agriculture, food production, tourism, and cultural exchange. Special attention was given to the upcoming Francisco el Hombre Festival, set to take place in Riohacha at the end of June. 

Also present at the meeting were Wilbert Geertruida, CEO of Curaçao Agribusiness Institute B.V., and Gersley Gijsbertha, representing the Ministry of Economic Development. 

The visit highlighted the growing ties between Curaçao and La Guajira and the shared interest in developing sustainable partnerships and cultural connections between the two regions.
