Government debt Curaçao more than four billion guilders

WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao's government debt has changed little since the end of the quarter. The debt of the second quarter of 2021 is more than 4 billion guilders.

The Financial Supervision Board (Cft) reports in a letter that Curaçao's debt ratio is rising to 4,028 million guilders. This has increased from 83 percent to 87 percent. For the third quarter, 168 million guilders in liquidity support from the Netherlands has been made available. Cft chairman Raymond Gradus says that with the liquidity support the debt ratio will come to 91 percent of GDP.

In addition, the implementation report was delivered more than seven weeks late. The Cft requests Finance Minister nJavier Silvania to adhere to the legal deadlines.
