Government aims to improve public perception of civil servants using LinkedIn

WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao government is taking steps to improve the public image of its civil servants. It has been noted that the community holds a largely negative view of this professional group. In an effort to positively influence this perception, the Directorate of Communication & Public Information plans to utilize the online platform LinkedIn, as outlined in the draft 2025 budget. 

The government intends to employ "LinkedIn ambassadors" as part of this strategy. The goal is to provide training, resources, and guidelines to empower employees to represent the Curaçao government on LinkedIn effectively. In collaboration with the human resources department, the Directorate of Communication & Public Information aims to recruit between 16 and 20 motivated civil servants to take on the role of LinkedIn ambassadors. This initiative is designed to foster a more positive image of the public sector and highlight the contributions of civil servants to the community.
