Gerrit Schotte goes to Ombudsman

WILLEMSTAD - Gerrit Schotte should have been released on June 24, but he is still in custody. That is why he will file his case to the Ombudsman.

According to the lawyers representing the former prime minister, this is because the Probation Service threatens with a negative final advice. Positive advice is needed for a provisional release.

Schotte's lawyers say that there is positive advice from the prison management. The former prime minister is serving a prison sentence for civil corruption and money laundering.
