Gasoline and diesel prices up again

WILLEMSTAD - From Tuesday, November 30, the rates of gasoline, diesel and propane on Curaçao will rise again. The rate for water and electricity will decrease slightly from Wednesday 1 December. Bureau Telecommunication and Post (BT&P) reports this in a monthly press release.

The current rate per liter of petrol is 2.28 guilders. The price at the gas station rises to 2.37 guilders, a difference of about ten cents per liter. The rate for diesel increases by just under ten cents per liter to 1.88 guilders.

Since September 2021, there have been substantial increases in international oil and fuel prices. This is leading to sharply rising energy prices worldwide. Also in Curaçao, the end-user tariffs for Mogas 95, Gasolie LSD and LPG are increasing mainly due to the high purchase prices.

Electricity and water rates, on the other hand, are falling slightly. For example, as of December 1, consumers will pay 62 cents per KiloWatt of electricity. The new rate for a cubic meter of water has fallen to 8.45 guilders.
