WILLEMSTAD - Hospice Arco Cavent is organizing the Week4Light fundraising event from December 6 to 12. Terminally ill people stay at Arco Cavent which is about quality of life, good care and as much comfort as possible.

With Week4Light, the organization tries to make the taboo about the last phase of life a topic of discussion. The organization shares content on the subject via Facebook, Instagram and the website.

“People can actively participate in the Week4Light by buying a lantern bag at one of the points of sale and then decorating it for a deceased loved one,” according to the organization. The bag can be placed on December 11 at the Cathedral of Thorns. "In this way we give light to Curaçao for a beautiful 2022 and at the same time we can commemorate our deceased loved ones," said Rianne van Gestel, director of the hospice.

The bags are for sale for ten guilders at Bruna, Van den Tweel, Onderlingehulp and Zumpiña Shop near the cathedral from 4 to 11 December. A closing evening will be organized on 11 December, where everyone is welcome. People are welcome between 5.30 pm and 8.30 pm. The entrance is at Landgoed Bloemhof.

The hospice is entirely dependent on gifts and donations. All proceeds from the Week4Light will go to Hospice Arco Cavent.
