WILLEMSTAD - The number of vendors of fruit and vegetables along the side of the road is getting out of control recently.

Inspectors of the Ministry of Economic Development today state that they will inspect more in the coming period. In the first instance, the inspectors will check whether the vendors have a valid license and an economic permit.

These vendors need to be registered and have proof that they pay taxes and that they adhere to the rules and regulations of the public health departments since they are dealing with edible products.

According to the Department, there is an exaggerated number of vendors of fruit and vegetables added to Curaçao in a short period of time.
