Freezers for vaccines expected this week

WILLEMSTAD - The freezers in which the Pfizer vaccine will be stored will arrive in Curaçao this week. This is according to Iralis Jansen, head of the vaccination project group.

According to Jansen, GPs are preparing lists of people who are eligible for the first vaccination group. This will consist of people over 60, chronically ill and healthcare workers.

According to the planning of the project group, training provided by the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) will take place in the coming weeks and the locations for the vaccinations will be designated. Jansen expects to be able to start vaccinating in the second or third week of February.
