Four arrested in Curaçao for alleged involvement in large-scale cocaine smuggling

WILLEMSTAD - In a series of recent arrests carried out in Curaçao, four individuals are now facing charges related to drug smuggling, with suspicions pointing to their involvement in the transportation of nearly 400 kilograms of cocaine. The illicit activities are believed to have taken place through the use of containers in the port, revealing an alarming drug trafficking network. Disturbingly, some of the suspects held positions as security guards at the port, further raising concerns about internal complicity. 

 

The arrested individuals include two individuals with the last name Raven and two others with the last name Krips, all of whom were born in Curaçao. Authorities suspect their involvement in three separate drug shipments that occurred between 2020 and 2022, highlighting an extended period of illicit activities taking place under the radar. 

 

The investigation has shed light on the sophistication and audacity of these criminal operations, which have been undermining security measures in the port. The alleged smuggling of such a substantial quantity of cocaine poses significant threats to public safety and national security.
