WILLEMSTAD - It should not have gone like this, the change of the guard in terms of national coach for the Curaçao Soccer Team. But the decision to replace Bicentini with Hiddink as national coach was unanimous after consultation with the board. This was announced by the football association during a press conference on Sunday.

They apologized to all fans and stakeholders. The association is convinced of the choice for Hiddink because of his extensive experience. The union thinks this will contribute to the further development of the Curacao national team.

Remko Bicentini, the former national coach, was completely overwhelmed by the news that he would be exchanged for Hiddink last Friday. His contract ran until the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
