FKP does not understand Rif residents’ concerns

WILLEMSTAD - It is unclear to the Social Housing Foundation (FKP) why there is unrest among tenants in the Rif area in Otrabanda. This is according to FKP director Arthur Con to the Minister in charge Charles Cooper.

It is not the intention to evict tenants. In addition, residents can appeal to the law. Buying does not break rent. On Wednesday, various organizations handed over a letter of protest to the Council of Ministers about FKP's plans. The Dutch House of Representatives and State Secretary Van Huffelen have also received the letter. The reason is the letter of intent that FKP has signed with the company of former MFK politician Rudney Garmes. In it, the parties say that they intend to negotiate the sale of listed buildings in Otrobanda that belong to FKP.
