PARAMARIBO, WILLEMSTAD - The 'new' Boeing 737-700 of the Surinamese Airline Company, SLM, performed its first flight this week. Under flight number PY729 'District of Brokopondo' flew from Paramaribo, via Trinidad, to destination Curaçao.
The 14-year-old Boeing, which is leased from the Mexican airline Aeroméxico under registration number PZ-TCT, set sail for the Caribbean island at about 08:00 (local time). The aircraft flew back later via the same route.
The new SLM Boeing, which the company received at the end of last year and is equipped with a new interior, will be deployed on the regional routes and will accommodate 120 economy class and 8 business class passengers.
It is the second Boeing 737-700 for the Surinamese airline. The SLM received the first in April last year.
