First day of trial Maximus: judge confronts Jamaloodin with conflicting statements

WILLEMSTAD - On the first day of trial in the Maximus case, Judge Van Gink, George Jamalooding, faced a large number of contradictions in his statements.

The ex-Minister of Finance visibly had a hard time with it and in the end often did not remember what the correct explanation was.

Jamaloodin is not only involved in the murder of Wiels but also on trial for subsidy fraud and forgery of documents in a voluntary disclosure scheme of the tax authorities. The trial will resume on Wednesday with witness hearings.
