Extra flights KLM to Curaçao due to coronavirus

SCHIPHOL, WILLEMSTAD - KLM will operate extra flights to and from Curaçao in the months of June and July. This is done with an Airbus 330-200. It has a seat capacity of sixteen business seats and 250 seats in economy class.

The reason for this is a shift in holiday flights as a result of the corona crisis, whereby flights to various countries are no longer being flown or are being flown less and less.

Corona

Air France-KLM was hit hard by the corona virus. Fewer passengers were on board in February, almost entirely due to the collapse in demand for flights to Asia.

In the coming months, the situation will become even worse, given the spread of the corona virus to other parts of the world and the cancellation of flights.

KLM will also decrease by 13 percent on flights outside Europe.

Capacity expansion

The capacity expansion to Curaçao includes 16 extra flights between 3 June and 24 July. These are two flights per week on Wednesday and Friday.

Between April 1 and May 15, KLM has already added ten extra flights on the Wednesday from April 1 to May 13 and on Friday between May 1 and May 15.

In addition, with effect from the summer season from 29 March, KLM will fly three times a week on the Amsterdam - Sint Maarten - Curaçao - Amsterdam route with the Airbus 330-200.
