Walk Like a Woman

WILLEMSTAD - Gallery Alma Blou at Landhuis Habaai presents on Friday May 24, 2019 an exhibition of transformed shoes, created by Reyna Joe.

The idea and vision behind this exhibition is that shoes tell their own stories and  that every woman, in each walk of life, has a shoe revealing where she is at that moment in life.

‘Walk Like a Woman is the pre-conference event of the 16th Annual Female Leadership Conference in Curaçao.

This exhibition is also a fundraising event to support specific educational aspiration of both male and female students.

Gallery Alma Blou gladly supports this creative expression of Reyna Joe.

Lusette Verboom of the gallery says: ‘Shoes make women stand tall and is not only part of the basic outfit of every woman, but also connects human beings with the ground they walk on.

Presenting the exhibition Walk Like a Woman during the 16th Female Leadership Conference; Reyna Joe makes a statement by telling every woman that they are entitled to stand up for themselves in whatever shoe they wear’.

Reyna Joe is a creative entrepreneur, journalist/broadcaster, published author and she participated in the recent Curaçao Folk Art training organized by Gallery Alma Blou and supported by Reda Sosial.

Walk Like a Woman opens on Friday May 24, 2019 from 19.00 till 21.00 at Gallery Alma Blou and entrance is free for anyone interested in the stories told by the shoes in Walk Like a Woman.
