Ex-policeman must still pay a fine

WILLEMSTAD - An ex-policeman still must pay his fine because he did not have any insurance papers in his vehicle when he was stopped by his colleagues. He told the judge that the police were too quick to hand out fines in order to get their quota.

He knew this from his own experience, but the judge did not think that matters.

During the session, the ex-policeman still showed his papers. That's why he got the usual 50 guilders fine and another 50 guilders because he could have shown the fine at the counter of the Public Prosecution Service. Like everyone who has papers but was not able to show them during a traffic check.
