WILLEMSTAD - Nine companies are seriously interested in taking over the refinery. This is according to Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath.

60 companies have been contacted and a number of them will join the nine with whom an agreement has now been signed to continue talking. The current operator, PdVSA is not included. They lease the refinery until December 31 of this year.
