Dutch Undersecretary Paul Blokhuis visits Curaçao and Bonaire for the corona crisis

THE HAGUE - Dutch Undersecretary Paul Blokhuis of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS) will pay a working visit to Curaçao and Bonaire from tomorrow until June 17. The approach to the corona crisis and good care and welfare in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom during and after the corona crisis are the most important themes of the visits and conversations that are planned, reports Rijksdienst Caribisch Nederland (RCN).

The visit starts on June 12 in Curaçao. There Blokhuis will visit the Curaçao Medical Center and hold talks with IC staff and epidemiologists Dr. Izzy Gerstenbluth and Irálice Jansen. RCN does not say what Blokhuis will do on 13 June.

On June 14, he will travel to Bonaire. There he will visit Fundashon Mariadal hospital, the Public Health Service, a women's shelter and shelter for the elderly and assisted living for young people.

RCN: "The official opening of the central social facilities of the Care and Welfare group will be carried out by the Undersecretary. Blokhuis will also lay the first stone for the new construction/renovation of the disabled care provider FKPD."

Furthermore, a letter of intent will be signed for the realization of Beach Park Bonaire with Bonaire Government Buildings, Beach Tennis Bonaire and Volleyball Association Bonaire.
