Dutch submarine visits Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD - The submarine Zr. Ms. Dofijn entered the Willemstad harbor today at 10.15 this morning. The submarine will participate in the maritime event Velas Latinoamérica in June. Until then, there will be joint exercises with other Dutch units in the Caribbean.

Sr. Ms. Dolfijn is a submarine of the Walrus class and has been in service since 1993 as the third submarine of this class. The first two small submarines are Zr. Ms. Walrus and Sr. Ms. Zeeleeuw. The Dolfijn is 68 m long.

For safety reasons there is no possibility to enter the submarine or to conduct interviews with the crew. The entrance was clearly visible from Punda and Otrobanda near the Queen Emma Bridge.
