THE HAGUE - The Senate Committee on Kingdom Relations has an oral consultation with State Secretary Alexandra van Huffelen on Tuesday about the policy she has announced with regard to the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom.
The senators are expected to ask critical questions about the extent to which the Caribbean Reform and Development Agency (COHO) limits the autonomy of Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten. As far as the special municipalities of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba are concerned, the emphasis will be on the (until now failing) approach to poverty.
The committee members seem to have gathered enough discussion during their recent working visit to all six islands. Two hours are allotted for the oral consultation.
