Dutch Parliament wants to know how many Venezuelans do not make the crossing

THE HAGUE - The Dutch Ministry of Defense will investigate whether there are more and better figures about the number of Venezuelans drowning on their way to the islands.

The Members of Parliament for the GroenLinks party in the Second Chamber have requested this information from the Minister of Defense.

The coast guard only keeps track of how many people are picked up or rescued, but not how many hova drowned or have gone missing.

The ministry did not announce how they will get this information. It will probably have to be done in cooperation with Venezuela.
