Dutch National Archives presents the exhibition 'Korsou-Curaçao'

THE HAGUE - The Dutch National Archives is preparing an exhibition devoted entirely to Curaçao. The exhibition Korsou-Curaçao combines archival documents with different visions of the island. For example, a selection from the unique collection of audio recordings, the Zikinzá collection, offers an insight into the daily life of Curaçao residents at the time.

Curaçaoans from now will also have their say on the topics from the exhibition. It contains interviews and photos made by the Curaçao photographer, documentary maker and culturist Selwyn de Wind. With their work, ten artists and performers show how they view slavery, resilience, society, and governance. Guest curator Dyonna Bennet curated the exhibition in close collaboration with advisors from both the Netherlands and Curaçao.

The exhibition can be visited from December 16, 2021, to October 23, 2022, in the National Archives in The Hague. The texts are in Dutch, Papiamento and English.
