WILLEMSTAD - The Education Executive Agency (DUO) will visit Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire, and Sint Maarten in November as part of a campaign to inform former students about potential reductions in their monthly student loan repayments. Many former students may be paying higher amounts on their DUO student loans than necessary, as their monthly payment amounts were calculated without considering their current incomes.
DUO encourages these individuals to submit their income details, which could significantly lower their repayment amounts without the risk of an increase. “The new monthly payment can only be reduced, never raised,” confirmed Monique Hoogerwerf, Coordinator for DUO in the Caribbean region.
Former students can receive assistance and address their repayment or student finance questions at temporary service centers on these islands from November 11 to 29, with no appointment required.
