DUO on to Bonaire after successful visits to Aruba and Curaçao

KRALENDIJK - The Education Executive Agency (DUO) will visit Bonaire from November 29 to December 10. DUO will then temporarily open a service office to talk to prospective students and former students. Earlier this month, the agency visited Aruba and Curaçao.

DUO will organize information meetings for prospective students and will offer tailor-made assistance to people with payment problems. The meetings are mainly aimed at students who want to study in the Netherlands and want to know more about financing.

During the visit to Bonaire, a temporary service office will be opened in the building of the Tax Authorities. People can go here with questions about Dutch student finance and the repayment of their student debt. It is not necessary to make an appointment to visit the office.

According to Monique Hoogerwerf, Caribbean coordinator at DUO, many people with payment problems were helped during the visit to Aruba and Curaçao. “Many people pay a lower monthly amount after reporting their income or sometimes even don't have to pay anything at all. We see great relief among many former students that a solution has been found for their payment arrears. So I would also like to say to repayers on Bonaire: get in touch with us. We can help you!”
