Drunk driver gets two years in jail and license revoked

WILLEMSTAD - The Dutchman who killed a German tourist on Bándabou last year must go to prison for two years and is not allowed to drive for four years.

He had consumed four times the permitted amount of alcohol. He also took medicines that are not allowed when driving a vehicle. The penalty is the same as the Public Prosecutor's demands.

Surviving relatives, including the German’s partner who was seriously injured in the accident, were present at the court case via a video connection.
