Dorothy Pietersz-Janga admits wrong action

WILLEMSTAD - Minister Dorothy Pietersz-Janga of Health, Environment and Nature (GMN) acknowledges that she acted incorrectly. She stated that the order to discontinue the investigation within the Stichting Bureau Ziekenkostenregeling (BVZ) does not comply with the separation of powers.

The investigation looked at the actions of two directors of the government foundation, where public money has disappeared in the past. Pietersz-Janga has sent a letter to the liquidators, in which she ordered the investigation into the board of directors to cease.

The minister defended herself by stating that the investigation into whether the case could also be handled outside the courts. Pietersz-Janga hopes that the investigation in court will be carried out carefully.
