Dissatisfaction among ambulance personnel on Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD - There is dissatisfaction with the management team's policy among the staff of Fundashon Kuido di Ambulans (FKA), the ambulance service. At a meeting with director Atticus Wederfoort yesterday, employees decided to only carry out the essentials.

The response to the grievances of the paramedics was deficient. As a result, the staff has decided not to perform non-urgent work.

The sick report procedure has been changed. This also creates tension in the workplace. In addition, the staff is not satisfied with the selection recruitment within the organization. They have questions about their overtime and their legal position.

Six colleagues are on a working visit to Aruba, without the other staff being aware of this. They were not happy about this. The employees are curious about what their colleagues will do there.

The ABVO union is waiting for a meeting with the Minister of Health, Environment and Nature (GMN), Dorothy Pietersz-Janga, to discuss the points of the ambulance personnel.
