Demonstrators must resume work; government wins court case

WILLEMSTAD - All civil servants who were on strike last week must return to work immediately. This is according to a ruling of the Court of First Instance.

The trade unions had to call their members via radio, television or social media to resume work in accordance with the applicable duty roster.

At the same time, the judge indicated that the government should consult with the trade unions on February 28 at the CGOA meeting and any subsequent consultations with the trade unions on the payment of the indexation, the awarding of the agreed remuneration that should have come into force on January 1, 2019 and the 3% indexation.
