WILLEMSTAD – Damen Shiprepair Curaçao and CDM Holding N.V. have issued a joint statement today responding to what they call a misleading report. The report, which was circulated via Facebook on Friday evening, suggested that Damen would be closing its doors in Curaçao. According to the companies, there is no truth to the claim that Damen is leaving the island. 

The companies have expressed disappointment over the spreading of unfounded rumors, especially at a politically and socially sensitive time, such as the evening of the elections. They have described the actions as "extremely regrettable." 

The statement goes on to emphasize that Damen has been working hard both internally and in its partnerships with customers and contractors to improve processes and increase customer satisfaction. These efforts have not only led to positive financial results but have also strengthened relationships with customers and stakeholders, while laying a solid foundation for the future.
