Curaçao’s local art showcased at roadshow in Belgium and the Netherlands

WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) and its partners in the private sector recently concluded another successful roadshow in the Netherlands and for the first time this year also Belgium. Over the course of three days, Curaçao’s tourism product was presented to a total of 150 travel agents and operators visiting the roadshow in three different cities: Antwerp, Utrecht and The Hague. In addition, the Curaçao Marriott Hotel and Dreams Resort were introduced. This year, the roadshow’s theme was: Our Local Art.

The CTB invited local artist Francis Sling to offer a presentation on Curaçaoan art that left the travel agents and operators in attendance no less than fascinated. Sling also offered a live-painting session with as theme: “The Bigger Picture.” In Belgium, the private-sector partners presented their new lodging options, activities and packages. At the session held in The Hague, the travel agents and operators were received by Minister Plenipotentiary Anthony Begina. At that session, as well as at the one in Utrecht, participants took part in speed-dating sessions during which private-sector representatives got them acquainted with their products range. Then, on the last day, the private-sector partners made a visit to the new TUI head office in Rijswijk, where they spoke with the airline’s management.
