Curaçao will not break diplomatic ties with Venezuela

WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao does not break diplomatic ties with Venezuela. Not even after the accusation against Nicolas Maduro. Venezuelan leftist President Nicolás Maduro has easily won a second term in May last year, but his main rivals have refused to accept the results, calling the polling fraudulent — a view shared by the United States and many independent observers.

The Prime Minister of Curaçao, Eugene Rhuggenaath states that even with these serious accusations, Curaçao will continue with its diplomatic and economic ties with the South American country.

Curaçao, like most other countries in the world, was not present at the swearing-in of Maduro yesterday. Many countries are currently breaking diplomatic ties with Venezuela.
