WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao has asked the Netherlands for financial support to bear the costs for the deportation of Venezuelans, to send them back to their own country.

That can be deduced from the letter from Undersecretary Raymond Knops to the Second Chamber of the Dutch Parliament. Curaçao also wants to receive a contribution to cover the costs of uninsured healthcare.

The request from Curaçao is part of a broad support petition that Willemstad has filed in The Hague. Commitments have not yet been made.
