Curaçao receives 18.6 million euros for water purification

WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao will receive 18.6 million euros for sustainable water and water purification. This has been announced in the annual Forum for Overseas Territories of the European Commission.  

 

European Commissioner for International Relations Jutta Urpilainen has confirmed that the island will receive an amount of 18.6 million euros for "Water Management & Sanitation" for the period from 2021 to 2027. With the money, water treatment plants will be built and renovated.  

 

The five-day meeting concluded on Tuesday. State Secretary Alexandra van Huffelen attended the conference together with representatives of Curaçao and the other five overseas territories.
