WILLEMSTAD – Once again, Curaçao takes pride in celebrating diversity as the LGBTQ+ community continues its fight for visibility, inclusion, and acceptance. Guided by the Curaçao Pride Foundation, the 2025 edition of Curaçao Pride presents a bold program under the theme Find Your Spark, focusing on mental wellbeing, genuine inclusion, and amplifying voices that need to be heard.
In a world where visibility is increasing but support does not always keep pace, this year’s Pride sends a clear message: mental health matters. The Foundation emphasizes that while mental wellbeing is important for all, it is especially critical for LGBTQ+ individuals on the island, who continue to face unique challenges.
The celebrations officially open on Friday, September 26, with the Kuèrdu Awards (Queer Awards), honoring individuals and organizations making outstanding contributions to the LGBTQ+ community. The highlight of the week, the colorful Pride Walk, will take place on Wednesday, October 2, bringing together allies and community members in a vibrant display of unity.
Among the program’s key events is Mind The Gap, a special HR luncheon exploring the link between mental health, workplace performance, and organizational culture. Guest speaker Arthur Nivillac of ARBO Consult will share practical tools and strategies for HR professionals to foster healthier, more inclusive workplaces.
Another highly anticipated event is Raising Rainbows, a heartfelt workshop led by psychologist Verda Betrian. The session, designed for parents, teachers, and social workers, provides insights and tools to help raise queer children in safe and affirming environments at home, in schools, and in society.
With workshops, discussions, and celebrations throughout the week, Curaçao Pride 2025 offers spaces to connect, reflect, and inspire. “Whether big or small, every event is an opportunity to spark positive change through connection, care, and collective growth,” the Foundation stated.
The Curaçao Pride Foundation invites the entire community—locals and visitors alike—to learn, celebrate, and stand together for equality and inclusion.
