WILLEMSTAD - Member of Parliament for the coalition party MAN Giselle Mc William, presented a bill proposal for the Plastic Ban in 2018. The MP indicated that this proposal is now before the Advisory Board.

Mc William says that much has needed to be changed since then, but she hopes the Council will give their advice soon. The law could then be debated in parliament in a few months.

The earlier aim was to introduce a ban on disposable plastic from January 2020, but that has not been achieved. Mc William cautiously hopes this will be possible in January 2021.
