Curaçao has its first 'Smart Bus Stop'

WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao has its first 'Smart Bus Stop'. This is located right in front of Radulphus College (high school) on the Cas Coraweg. With the smart technology, departure and arrival times of the large buses can be read on a screen. The system is connected to the GPS of the buses of ABC Busbedrijf.

The bus stop offers free internet and options to charge the phone while the passenger is waiting for the bus. The bus stop also has a panic button and is sufficiently lit for safety.

A smart sensor is built in to collect a range of other information, such as the air quality and license plates of passing cars.

The bus stop is solar powered. More of this kind of bus stop will be constructed in the city next year.
