WILLEMSTAD – The government of Curaçao and the civil servants’ union CGvV have reached an official agreement to increase vacation pay for public employees from 6 percent to 8 percent.
Outgoing Minister of Justice Shalten Hato (MFK) signed the proposal to raise the vacation allowance, completing the legislative process following earlier consultations between the union and the government.
The increase will be implemented in two stages: initially, civil servants will receive the usual 6 percent. The remaining 2 percent will be paid retroactively once Parliament approves and publishes the bill.
